Lifes been good! I finished the bag I was making for my girlfriend, and I'm really excited to send it to her!
She's excited about it too which brings me much joy! Lifes been alright in other respects too. I recenly worked for over a week straight and had to talk to my boss about scheduling me less, which went well because now my next schedule is looking much more manageable! I paid off a massive amount of my college debt as well because I realized that they were apparently adding $100 to my debt each month despite me making payments each month, so now I'm trying to just pay it off as fast as possible in mass rather than bit by bit like I was doing before. So long to my beautiful savings, I guess...
Last bit of news is I have recently acquired the Hetalia Sweets book with the mold of the characters' faces included! I have a sense that I'll be using this all the time..."
Oh, and before I forget, if you've been here before, you might notice my site looking a bit different, and thats because I've officially swapped from using Sadgrl's layout builder to using my own original code! I'm very proud of how things turned out! I also consolidated my site a bit by utilizing iframes for swapping between subpage content instead of having you refresh the entire site for each page, meaning I only have to edit like.. one html if I wanna add or change stamps or links! Very exciting! Alrighty, that's all for today, thanks for reading!
Unfortunately college was predictably and extremely unaffordable, so after accumilating enough debt for one semester, I withdrew and went back to work. Works been going well, and for now I'm just focused on widdling away at that debt efficiently while saving up the remainder for a much less expensive college option hopefully. I still intend to pursue Criminology and Animation. I know these are two very different things but they are also two extreme passions of mine and I have a long life ahead of me (knock on wood), and I cannot imagine choosing one or the other.
Life has been good to me lately otherwise. I have a girlfriend now who I love a lot and I have six pet snails who have been living the dream in this new glass terrarium I got set up for Christmas. Before, they were all in this little plastic terrarium, which was perfectly sized and suited them nicely. The issue came when I recieved a heater as a gift for my terrarium to help regulate the humidity better for the snails. Unfortunately, this type of heater was not useable on plastic unless I wanted to risk melting the thing or hurting my snails. Instead, I ended up just upgrading to a nice, slightly larger glass tank. I've been using this new tank and new setup for a while now and my snails seem happier! The warmth and humidity regulation definitely helped, and now moisture is maintained a lot easier! Their favorite activities are eat big tomato and climb big stick. I remember the days when they would Hide in PlantPot but they don't really hide too much anymore unless theyre laying eggs. Boy I am good at keeping to one topic! Anyway, I started crocheting an AO3 tote bag for my girlfriend. Work in progress pictured below!
I think it's coming along nicely. My only hold-up is that I have to wait two more days for yarn to ship here from Joann's, which already wasn't local, and especially isn't local now after the whole shutdown thing of a bunch of stores! Two of them in my state were already not an option and the final third store said that it couldnt ship because it was in the process of liquidating. This might mean only out of state Joann's from now on.. it'sa pity! Anyway, I'm proud of how this project is coming along because it's a direct improvement from my last tapestry crochet project (pictured below), which became quite lumpy with all the color changes.
The Ao3 bag, on the other hand, hasn't been lumpy at all! Maybe it's just because I'm really taking my time with getting everything right because it's supposed to be a super special gift. I've made myself lots of bags in the past, and then I wore them out awfully because despite them all being lined with fabric, I carried like.. way too many things 24/7 so they all got worn really fast. I'm trying to figure out how I want to best line and reinforce this bag just in case my girl wants to carry like a million bricks around town or something. I want this bad boy to hold up nicely!!! Thats the plan at least, we'll see how it goes, you never know! All I really know for sure is I gotta brush up on my hand sewing skills and focus extra big time.
Anwyay, work has been good and I like being a manager, being in charge is nice! Sometimes I wish I was working an office job though. I could make due with something like that until I can get back on track with college... It'd be really nice if I could find myself an animation internship or job- or maybe even do some art freelance for a while just to get some credits and get my name out there so I can get out of minimum wage! I can only dream for a liveable wage someday.. isn't that sad!!! Well whatever, I'll be so responsible and save up as much as I can anyway. I'm the furthest thing from an impulse spender, so it shouldn't be hard. I hardly buy myself anything really, LOL!
Gosh, I've been coding nonstop lately. I love html. I eat sleep breath Neocities. Who knows when I'll remmember to update my little blog area, though... There's so much I still want to add. Like a little (really little, unfortunately) merch gallery in my Hetalia section, maybe links on my homepage to my other socials, or even design myself one of those buttons so people can link my site if they'd like! I love buttons and blinkers, if it wasn't obvious... Okay I've tried to end this off like four times and keep getting sucked back into writing, so I'll really let you go now.. Thanks for reading!!!!
The first of August means the arrival of the new school year! Today I'm just focusing on cleaning up my room some and adding more to my website. I'm going to be doing college online very soon and I am super excited to be able to pursue a major in criminology. A lot of today though will be spent enjoying my time with my friends. I'll probably play a few games and do some roleplay. I'm also looking to hopefully make a commissions sheet so I can add it to my commissions page. I'm probably gonna save it for tomorrow honestly, but I'd like to start brainstorming at least. I've recently started doing this online course which serves to teach you how to put together an art portfolio. Right now she is teaching how to make an interesting character design lineup, and I think her tips have already begun impacting my art! I havent done any of the lessons these past couple days but I think its ok to take your time with stuff like that as long as I keep the proactiveness to improve.
